I love everything related to Christmas: the decorations, the Christmas tree, the carols, Christmas food and last but not least, I love the family and friend gatherings. This year I decided to make a little change and have a Harry Potter Christmas party and I want to give you some ideas on how to plan your own.
1. Prepare your house for the Harry Potter Christmas Party
You can find Harry Potter merchandise everywhere at just a Google Search away, but if you have talent (I know I don’t) and time, you can create your own decorations. From floating candles to Golden Snitches, you can craft yourself almost anything. I found a video from the Craft Factory who show amazing skills, that I will leave you here for inspiration:
2. Buy Harry Potter Christmas treats
You cannot have a successful Harry Potter Christmas party without treats. Jelly Belly has a great offer to help you: Chocolate Frogs, Gummi Creatures and most importantly Bertie Bott’s Beans that will raise the mood (don’t invite nauseous friends)
3. Make Homemade Butterbeer
Butterbeer is a beverage very popular in the wizarding world and of course, you need to serve it at your Harry Potter Christmas festivity. This drink is served in mugs foaming hot. It has a small quantity of alcohol, but be aware that house elves get very drunk after drinking it, so don’t serve it to the children 🙂
The main ingredients you need in order to prepare this magical drink are vanilla ice cream, Butterscotch syrup, and cream soda, but you can add sweeten condensed milk if you want to go with Madam Rosmerta’s sweeter version.
Butterbeer is also good if you decide to play the Harry Potter drinking game because you won’t go totally wasted after it.
4. Wear traditional Harry Potter Christmas clothes
Just as the decorations, you can also by branded clothes very easily. Having a cool T-shirt, a robe or a scarf will always be a plus. Didn’t have time to but some any of these or spent all the money on presents? Don’t worry. You can always find an ugly sweater similar to the ones Mrs. Weasley made each year or even better don’t wear matching socks in Dobby’s honor.
Hurray! You are ready to celebrate in style. Can you add any other tips to make a hell of a Harry Potter Christmas party?
